What Do We Do? See the old grocer's gone Couldn't make ends meet Big box store on the edge of town You can't compete The butcher down on Lower Main Told me he's had enough Bills they all went up again Can't pay 'em when time's get tough Can't pay 'em when time's get tough What do we do? Now that it's ending The small town life we knew What do we do? Do we keep pretending? That the old days are still new Feels like this town's being taken away Sold out from under our feet Watching it disappear day after day Only memories live on these streets Better hold on to the way things are when they're right Keep 'em safe from those who will try To bury them and put up cheap, flashing lights They'll turn them into days gone by They'll turn them into days gone by What do we do? Now that it's ending The small town life we knew What do we do? Do we keep pretending? That the old days are still new Or do we move away and start again In a big, strange, lonely place Where people keep their eyes tight to the ground and Nobody sees your face Nobody sees your face What do we do? Now that it's ending The small town life we knew What do we do? Do we keep pretending? That the old days are still new That the old days are still new

about

As with most bands, the debut recording by The Porchdog Choir was a labour of love.

For over a year, the band spent weekends in the studio, working with engineer and co-producer Ian McCulloch, recording, mixing and producing this album.

We hope you like it.

"The Porchdog Choir" What's in a name?

Every summer Stephen would gather various musician friends to perform on his front porch for the annual Roseheath Avenue street festival. There always seemed to be a dog on the porch with them, so the group became known as The Porch Dogs.

A few summers ago, Gary and Bill were recruited, and even though the trio had never played together, there was instant chemistry. They were so inspired by that night, they decided to continue together as a musical workshop.

At that time, John - a long time friend of Stephen's - was recording song demos in Stephen's basement studio and he was asked to join the trio. The quartet clicked and The Porchdog Choir was born.

The Porchdog Choir are:

Bill Hedefine: Drums and Vocals
John Keating: Acoustic Guitar, Harmonica and Vocals
Gary Krantz: Bass Guitar and Vocals
Stephen Neale: Electric and Acoustic Guitar, Mandolin and Vocals
